How A Refugee Can Bring His Or Her Spouse To Canada

If someone has convention refugee status and they have a spouse overseas, they need to indicate on their application that they have a spouse overseas that they want included in their application.

The spouse can be added to the application of the convention refugee for permanent residence provided that the spouse shows up within 6 months of the acceptance by the convention refugee. The convention refugee has 6 months to apply for permanent residence to Canada as a convention refugee and if a spouse arrives before his convention refugee status is confirmed or anytime within 6 months after he is declared a convention refugee, the spouse can be added to that application and get landed immigration status at the same time.
