Biography
Called to the Bar of Ontario in 1986, Yemensky began his career as a general practitioner, taking whatever cases came in the door. He did a little bit of criminal law, personal injury practice, wills and estates, corporate law, and family law but his specialty quickly became clear.

“I found that I had the empathy for the clients in the family law field,” he says. He was attracted to the family therapy aspects, and after more than 20 years in practice, he still thrives on helping his clients to successfully negotiate a traumatic period of their life.

Outside the law office, Yemensky has put his expertise to work as one of the first directors of The Children’s Bridge, the largest international adoption facilitator in Canada. Later, he helped to create The Children’s Bridge Foundation, which provides aid to orphanages and assists in the development of education and recreation programs for overseas orphans who are not adoption candidates.

In his spare time, he plays lead guitar for the Verdict, a rock ‘n’ roll band composed mainly of law professionals that raises funds for charitable causes.
